Happy Birthday, Billy & Dani!

It's hard to believe that Billy is 4 and Dani is 1! It's so fun to see how happy they are on their birthday, but part of me is sad they are growing up. My baby girl is not a baby anymore. Part of me wishes they would stay little...

We celebrated their birthdays with a party in Denver, and we're planning a party here, too. Here's the first round.

Billy loved his new bubble toys. Much cooler than the bubbles we had growing up.

Princess Dani

The cakes, Ethan blew out Dani's candle for her.

Dani definitely enjoyed her personal cake!
Speaking of children growing, it seems like yesterday Mackenzie was a newborn, she'll be 8 this year!

Maternity Portraits

Here's a few maternity portraits from a recent session.

Thank you, Heidi!

Diet Update 1-16

This week was much harder than the first week. However, as of this morning I have lost an additional 2 pounds, 7 total. I went out to eat for lunch a couple times, which I didn't order the healthy salads. I also added some strength training to my exercise routine. But, that backfired on me, instead of toning up, I bulked up, making my pants tighter than before I started my diet. I have stopped that and added more time to my gazelle workout. It's been only 2 days since I made the switch, and already, I'm seeing a difference.

Billy

Billy is turning 4 this month! It's hard to believe, he's growing up so fast. He's cuter than ever! He's my pride and joy! I love you, Billy!!
We bundled up and went out in the snow for a couple fun photos. Thank you, Cathy, for letting me use your property to get this great view!!

Next, we got some great pics on the railroad tracks. Billy still loves trains. Although, he says he wants to be a racecar driver when he grows up. Justin asked him the other day if he was going to go hunting with him one day. Billy said, "No, I'll be busy driving my racecar." Justin asked, "What about when your not racing?" Billy responded, "No, I'll be practicing racecar driving."

After we were done, we took a few in the studio. This 1st one is my favorite picture of my little man!

I liked this second one, too. I think Billy looks so innocent. Justin said it looks like he just got in trouble.

While, Billy and I were taking photos, Dani kept trying to get Billy. She is always trying to play with her big brother.
Dani & Billy wrestling. They are so cute!

After we were done, Billy read a book to Dani.

Diet Update

So, it's been 1 week since I started my New Years Diet. It's going pretty well. I weighed this morning and I've lost 5 pounds! I know on any diet, the first few pounds are the easiest, but I'm definitely happy with the results. In the past week, I've managed to eat salads every day for lunch, but I have cheated and ate a couple chocolates candies left over from Christmas. I also cheated on my diet and got a Mocha yesterday from Cowgirl Coffee, but they have the best Mochas and they're located right across the street. It's so tempting.... I've been doing my crunches, every night. Last night, I also did some other exercises and running in place. After about 2 minutes, I was out of breathe, which just emphasizes the need for more exercise! 17 more pounds to go.... Kristy

New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year!!!!

Time to make my resolutions:

#1 Lose Weight.

It's time for me to stop using the baby excuse. Dani is almost 11 months old, so I need to lose the baby weight, not to mention the few pounds I added over the holidays.

The Goal: To lose 22 pounds in 3 months.

The Plan: Eat healthy: no more Mocha Lattes for breakfast, salads every day for lunch, smaller portions for dinner. No sweets: no more muffins, no chocolate, no cake, no pies, no cookies, etc. Exercise: 4 times per week, do crunches (my favorite), go for a walk or use the Gazelle for at 20 minutes.

#2 Improve Time Management.

This was a very busy year, being self employed and 2 small kids, there was no time for anything. I love my career, and I love my family. However, working long hours day after day, and being a full-time mom with a baby who still wakes up every night, can wear you out!

The Goal: Get more done in less time & have more time for my family and myself.

The Plan: Outsource more work. Work smarter, not harder.

#3 Be a Better Blogger.

I've had great intentions of all the things I can blog, but then I get busy and it doesn't happen. So, this year, I will be a better blogger!

The Goal: Blog a minimum of 2 times per week or more.

The Plan: Make blogging a priority.

#4 New Look and Logo

Wild Iris Studio has been in business for 17 years. We bought the business 2 years ago. The studio has never had a logo. So, this year will be the year. We will be creating a logo and a complete new look.

The Plan: Details are secret, but we'll keep you posted.
