Shriner's Circus

Every year, we go to the Shriners circus. It's such a good cause, with proceeds benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children. It's a great way to spend an evening with the family!

The lion, Dani's favorite part of the circus! She told me this morning, "The lion went 'roooar', then it tried to bite me!" Only 2, and already has an imagination!

Memorial Day

It's officially summer!! Our summers are jammed packed, trying to get the most out of the good weather. Of course, it's also the busiest time of the year at Wild Iris. Summers mean weddings, high school senior portraits, family reunions, & outdoor children's portraits. So, pretty much every moment we're not working, we're out doing stuff with kids, camping, hiking, traveling, going to the zoo, and whatever else we can do to get outside. That's why summer is my favorite time of year. I was bummed that it wound up raining most of the long weekend, but it did clear up on Memorial Day, so we to the Salida Mini Golf.

But, we started the day out with blueberry muffins! The kids love to help me bake, especially cracking the eggs and licking the spoons. They take turns pouring the ingredients into batter. It was our first time using our new heart shaped cupcake molds that grandma gave them. They thought the heart muffins were really cool!
