Camping Trip

I love summer! It's my favorite time of year, but it's also one of the busiest times! Between weddings, family portraits, high school seniors, babies and engagement portraits, we try to sneak away as much as possible during the summer to spend some time as a family. Last week, we closed the office Monday and Tuesday to take the kids camping. It's the second time we've been able to go this summer and the kids absolutely love it! Billy told me that he wanted to camp forever. I replied that it would get mighty cold during the winter, he responded, "We'll just wear our warm jammies."

Dani loved playing in the dirt. Every time I'd clean her up, put on some clean clothes, she'd be in the dirt again. Justin & Billy spent most of the time fishing. He said everytime they came back to camp, Dani had dirt in new places than when they left.
Dani sound asleep at camp.
Dani and I walked down to see how the boys were doing fishing. Billy came running up to us.Dani was equally excited to see Billy!
Billy had a stick on a string that he was dropping down into the water. But, during the trip he did end up catching 9 fish with his fishing pole.
Dani wanted to fish, too. Soon, enough she'll be fishing along side those boys!
Back at camp, we found a lot of pretty flowers!

Class of 2009 Seniors

It's that time again - time for Senior Portraits! We're beginning to create senior portaits for the class of 2009. Typically the yearbook portrait is due around October 1st, the official date will be announced after the school year begins. Over the next couple months Wild Iris will be featuring high school seniors on our blog and myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/wildirisstudio.
We create portraits that are as unique as each senior, from classic, traditional portraits to artistic and grunge style portraits.

Our first featured Senior is Hannah, a Buena Vista High School Senior, class of 2009.

FIBArk

This year was a very special FIBArk for our family. It was Justin's first time meeting his sister, Tracey. What? Yep, that's right. When Justin was 18, he found out he had an older sister, who was placed for adoption at birth, but no one knew how to find her. About two weeks before FIBArk, Tracey contacted Jean, it was her baby girl (her adopted parents had changed her name at birth).

Needless to say, it's been an emotional reunion. Everyone was so excited to meet Tracey!!

Everyone told Justin and his brother, Brennon , that Tracey wasn't coming until next month. Justin unexpectly showed up at Jean's house a little while before Tracey arrived and was surprised. Later, we surprised Brennon (above).

Tracey is an aunt! Something she thought she'd never have being that she was an only child.

The parade is always the highlight of FIBArk! Tracey, Ray & Jean watching the parade and catching up.

Never fall asleep at Jean & Micks, someone's likely to mess with you! Kaylee gave her dad a princess headband, Jean added some blush and some new eyebrows. Everyone got a good laugh, poor Brennon!
