Denver Downtown Aquarium

Last weekend, while we were in Denver, my mom & I took the kids to the Downtown Aquarium (Ocean's Journey). We had a lot of fun & the kids absolutely loved it! Billy hasn't quit talking about it!

The Tiger fish

Billy's favorite fish - he though it was cool to see such a big fish.

There were tunnels you walk through, I was surprised to see scuba divers! Apparently, anyone can swim with the fish!

We all loved the sea turtles!

Billy wasn't sure what to think the first time he saw a shark swim overhead!

I was also shocked there were tigers. But, it was neat to see the fish in the water with the tigers!

And, the tigers weren't shy, they'd just walk right up to the windows! The kids were a little nervous when this one walked up to us.

Look close and you can see the tiger chilling out on the rock.

The kids can touch star fish. The lady told Billy to watch close and see them move really slowly.

Everyone there was super friendly! This was one of the workers cleaning the tank. He came to the window to show Billy a shark tooth he found!

Then, the kids got to touch the sting rays!

Julaine

Salida Middle School's 8th grade classes do a "Shadow Day" each year. The students pick a career they are interested, then find someone in that field to shadow for a day. It's a great hands-on learning experience! Julaine asked to shadow me, and of course, I said yes. She came in recently and spent the day at the studio. We started with a photo session, Julaine was the model. Then, we downloaded and edited those photos. She spent the day learning all about photoshop and the ins and outs of the job. At the end of the day, she got a CD with all of her images to take home.

Where's the snow? It's February, and in Salida, there's no snow for outdoor portraits at Wild Iris Studio! But, the great thing about living in such a beautiful place, is that no matter the weather, we can always create beautiful portraits!

Wedding Guest Book - Nathan & Paula

Wild Iris Studio can create a custom guest book for your wedding. Paula & Nathan came in for Engagement portraits and we made their personalized guest book. Traditional guest books are boring! They also have about a million lines, so only the first couple pages get filled, then you have a whole book of blank white pages. Although, these are fun & they are a hit at the wedding! Also, you'll enjoy looking through them, even years later! We can create books with a few pages or a lot of pages! Guests can either sign their name, or write a personalized message!
